Okay, now we’re getting somewhere. We’re a sports fundraising platform. We link donations to athletic performance, so when teams and athletes play hard, they raise money for good causes. With Pointpledge, users raise money for the nonprofit, school, or 529 college savings plan of their choice with every point, goal, touchdown, home run, save, tackle (any statistic!) that a team or athlete achieves. Choose any sport, any game or event stat, and raise money for a cause you’re passionate about. Play Sports. Change the World! We make it easy. Both ATHLETES and FANS! If you’re an athlete, coach, or team official, you can start a pointpledge here. You’ll raise money for the nonprofit or school of your choice, or to pay for college for yourself or someone you care about. If you’re a fan (parents, family, teachers, principals, PTAs, booster clubs, alumni associations, etc.) you can start a pointpledge based on how an athlete or team performs here. You’ll raise money for the nonprofit or school of your choice, or to pay for college for someone you care about. If you’re looking to find an active pointpledge with one of your favorite athletes or teams that’s already up and running, go here. Note: Users must be at least 13 years old with their parent’s permission to create their own Pointpledge account. Athletes and fans use Pointpledge to raise money for: - NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED NONPROFITS working to help people in need, cure diseases, rescue animals, and protect the environment. See a list of the nonprofits you can choose here. - LOCAL SCHOOLS. New learning tools, field trips, new sports equipment, and anything else of need at their local elementary, middle, or high school, or the college of their choice. - 529 COLLEGE SAVINGS PLANS for themselves or for someone they care about. Campaigns with celebrity teams and athletes can draw fan donations from a wide audience. For the rest of us, a common misconception about crowdfunding is that complete strangers will donate to the campaign. While this does happen, it usually happens once a pointpledge has already gained a lot of momentum. That’s why you want to leverage your network of friends and family that already exist on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and other social media to post your campaign.
